Principal's Message

Captain Shreve High School opened its doors in 1967 and is currently in its fifty-fifth year. Captain Shreve has a history of excellence and is home to high-performing, multi-talented students and staff. Shreve is a neighborhood school with an Engineering & Liberal Arts Magnet component. To enrich the engineering magnet experience, Captain Shreve has recently partnered with SWEPCO to provide students hands-on, real-world experiences. For the fourth year, Shreve students have the opportunity to participate in the AP Capstone program at one of only five eligible schools in Louisiana. Shreve is proud to be the home to the 2016 National Student Council Advisor of the Year and the 2016 Caddo Parish Student of the Year. We offer 22 LHSAA sanctioned sports and over 40 extracurricular clubs and organizations for students to find their niche and grow their leadership skills. Captain Shreve has a strong PTSA, Alumni Association and community stakeholders who support the school and work together to fulfill the mission of promoting academic achievement and leadership development. The camaraderie that our Shreve family enjoys is unique and it is an important part of our past and future success. Enrollment is on the rise and The Swamp is a great place to be. Please contact me if you would like to take a tour of our school.
