Announcements – Thursday, April 17

• Breakfast and lunch in the Gator cafeteria are free to all Captain Shreve students this school year. Stop in!

• Students, do not wear hoodies at any time this year. Hoods cannot be tucked into the shirt to hide them. Hoodies will be confiscated. No blankets. No hats or headgear are allowed in any of the buildings.

• Students who are invited to the Underclassmen Honors Day assembly this morning should come immediately to the gym when Mrs. Carter releases you from your class.

  • QUIETLY ENTER THE GYM THROUGH THE BACK DOOR.

  • QUIETLY PUT YOUR BACKPACK AND LARGE BAGS IN THE WEIGHT ROOM.

  • QUIETLY HAVE A SEAT IN THE BLEACHERS ON THE BOYS SIDE OF THE GYM.

    • THERE ARE NO NAMES ON THE SEATS.

    • JUNIORS ARE IN THE SECTION NEAREST THE WEIGHT ROOM.

    • SOPHOMORES ARE IN THE SECTION NEXT TO JUNIORS.

    • FRESHMEN ARE IN SECTION NEXT TO SOPHOMORES.

    • STUCO EXEC BOARD WILL HELP YOU FIND YOUR SEAT.

• Hey Gators! If you're interested in off-campus PE next year, stop by the office and get an application today! The deadline to submit the completed application is May 12.

• Students, you are not permitted to sell food items on campus at any time.

• Students: April is National School Library Month! We’re celebrating and READING and recognizing students who embrace our reading culture, so get out your books, newspapers, magazines and get caught reading!

  • When you finish an assignment early – start reading!

  • When you’re waiting in line – start reading!

  • When you can’t wait to learn what happens in the story – keep reading!

  • We encourage you to use every extra minute to read books of your choice!!!

  • From today until May 2 teachers will be giving out READING TICKETS– they’re like speeding tickets – but you can win a prize from our daily drawing as a reward for getting caught reading. If you get a reading ticket, bring it to the library and turn it in to enter our daily drawing for prizes.

• Hey Gators - Your last chance to sign up for next year's Greece & Italy trip is coming up. We will have one final meeting on Wednesday, April 23, at 6 pm in B104 to register students who are interested in traveling abroad for the summer of 2026. See Mrs. Garcia for more information. You must register to attend.

• Congratulations to the choir students who participated in the state music rally last weekend and received superior performance ratings. The students who participated were McKinley Miles, Serenity White, McKinley Brown, and Kennedi Cunningham. We are proud of you!

JUNIORS!!! It's time to sign up for your Ring Ceremony. You MUST register to participate by Wednesday, April 30, and no late sign-ups will be accepted. Visit your Junior Class Page for the link to sign up - don't miss this milestone event. Tickets for Ring Ceremony will go on sale April 21 and each junior will receive 2 free tickets and be able to purchase 2 additional tickets for $10 each.

• Hey Key Club! The next general meeting will be on April 17 at 7:50 AM in Mrs. Mainiero's room in A310.

• Attention all senior members of National Honor Society in good standing: NHS stoles for graduation can now be purchased at payschoolscentral.com. They are $26. Go to payschoolscentral.com and search for National Honor Society Stoles 2024-25 SENIORS to pay. Once you have paid, show your receipt to Mr. Long (starting on Wednesday, 4/16) in A108 to receive your stole. The deadline to pay and pick up your stole is May 2. Contact Mr. Long if you have any questions.
